San Gabriel welcomes new business: Guiji Tea

The City of San Gabriel is pleased to welcome Guiji Tea, a new business located at Tawa Gateway, 140 W. Valley Blvd, #127, to the community, and the home of Guiji Tea’s first-ever United States location.

To celebrate the grand opening, Guiji Tea will offer special promotions and raffles throughout the day, inviting community members to stop by, explore the new space, and show support for a new local business.

Guiji Tea will celebrate its grand opening at 10 am, tomorrow Friday, Feb. 6.

Guiji Tea is part of the City’s Grand Opening Package, a new initiative created by the Economic Development Division to celebrate and support the success of our local business community.

Walnut holds Coffee with a Cop

The City of Walnut has finalized plans for the upcoming Coffee with a Cop community engagement event. 

The event will include participation from the Walnut Sheriff’s Department and City Staff, providing residents with an opportunity to engage directly with local law enforcement in an informal setting. 

This event is scheduled for 11 am to 1 pm on Thursday, Feb. 11, at Aroma Craft Coffee, at the Walnut Tech Business Center, 20265 Valley Blvd Ste Q.

Hermosa Beach to start Cal Water Mainline Replacement Project

The City of Hermosa Beach is putting out the word to residents that Cal Water will be replacing approximately 2,050 feet of new water main pipe and service connections to homes along Aviation Blvd. between Aubrey Park Ct. and Corona St., Owosso Ave. between Aviation Blvd. and 9th St., 10th St. between Prospect Ave. and Owosso Ave., and 9th St. between Prospect Ave. and Owosso Ave. 

Work is scheduled to start Feb. 9 and is anticipated to be completed by May 31.

What to expect:
Work hours are Monday-Friday 9am-3pm.
Temporary No Parking where posted.
Heavy equipment and large commercial trucks.
Temporary sidewalk closures and detours.
Temporary lane and street closures and detours.
Construction Noise.
Water service outages with advance notice.
Pavement restoration.

Bellflower kicks off 2026 Looking Better Program

The City of Bellflower is expanding its 2026 Looking Better Program, a long-running residential improvement initiative that supports community beautification by organizing neighborhood yard sales and providing convenient trash dumpsters to help residents clear unwanted items from their properties.

Residents interested in participating in the community yard sale must pre-register at this link and host their sale at their own home. Yard sales will take place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. within each neighborhood’s designated boundaries. To boost participation, the City will promote the event with yard-sale signage and social-media advertising.

On the Saturday following each yard sale, free dumpsters will be available for residents to dispose of leftover items. Please note that hazardous materials, electronic waste, tires, oil and construction debris are not accepted in the dumpsters.

This weekend, the Bellflower Looking Better will be in Area 1.

  • Yard Sale Day: Saturday, February 7
  • Clean-Up Day: Saturday, February 14
  • Boundaries (North/South):
    • 9022 Gardendale St. through 9662 Foster Rd. (or South of this)
    • 9021 Somerset Blvd. through 9765 Somerset Blvd. (or North of this)
